Welsh National Primary Schools Pop Lacrosse Tournament

On Saturday 17th April 2010 the Welsh National Primary Schools Pop Lacrosse Tournament was held on the Astroturf at the Welsh Institute of Sport Cardiff, after a short absence.

On a very sunny morning the 5-a-side Tournament started with Primary School Teams from Gladstone, Evenlode, Howells (4 teams) and Sully vying for the Winner’s Trophy.

With the support of families, relatives and friends, every team produced some excellent lacrosse.

After the Round Robin Section of the Tournament, it was Howells ‘A’, Howells ‘C’, Sully and Evenlode respectively leading the way, with Gladstone a point behind in 5th.

This resulted in Howells ‘A’ playing Evenlode in one Semi Final and Howells ‘C’ playing Sully in the other, with Evenlode and Sully coming out victors.

In a high scoring final, Evenlode beat Sully 7 – 2. In the Play Off for 3rd and 4th places, Howells ‘A’ and Howells ‘C’ fought out a 0 – 0 draw.

Final Placings: 1st – Evenlode, 2nd – Sully, Joint 3rd – Howells ‘A’ & Howells ‘C’

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the coaches and teachers for all their help and support, and also the players and their families, relatives and friends for making this a memorable start to a new season of pop-lacrosse!
