Wales Mens Lacrosse - Triangular Tournament - 6th and 7th June 2015 - Stirling University‏

Head Coach Rick Summers has picked a strong Dragons squad to compete in a triangular tournament in Scotland this weekend. Competing against Scotland and top American college side USA Athletes International, at Stirling University, the Dragons will play four games over two days in an intensive competition.

Speaking of the selection Coach Summers said “ we have a good combination of experience with some exciting newcomers. World Championship internationals James Richardson, Jason Jones, Matt Parkes, Alan Croft, Eddie Owen, David Howie, Alex Wiliams, Jack Murray and Paul Simpson will form a very strong spine to the 24 man squad”

 Dan Funnell, Chair of men’s performance at Wales Lacrosse, said 

“ Our development programme is begining to identify new talent in  South Wales, particularly, and though the Universities programme lead by Ray Nash. Players like Luke Hamilton, Matt Davies and Tom Rosser proved themselves at the British National Championships and we’re glad to offer them the opportunity to test themselves at a higher level. We haven’t selected any players from our under 19 squad because of examinations but they will be included in our next two training camps in Ruthin and Monmouth as we build up towards the World Under 19 Championships and the senior mens’ European Championships in 2016”

  • Second Match - Scotland v Wales. – Start say 2.00pm. 
  • Third Match – USA v Wales – Start say 4.00pm
 Sunday :
  • First Match – USA v Wales. – Start 9.30am. 
  • Second Match – Scotland v Wales – Start 12 midday. Finish by 2.00pm
